Perhaps you'd like to know a little about the organization behind RFund,
The Reserve Fund Manager. The section that follows will provide some background,
and following that you can meet two of the key players.
Farther along we will cover Ownership, Liability and Acknowledgment matters.
The Company
We're a Toronto-based developer and marketer of proprietary software packages.
The products are used in 23 countries around the world for determining optimal
replacement times for industrial assets, and the proper intervals for replacement
and repair. The mathematical models that underlie the calculations are those of
Mr. Oliver's colleagues, the globally-respected engineers Dr. Andrew Jardine of
the University of Toronto and Dr. Nicholas Hastings in Australia.
The connection between all of this and RFund is not particularly meaningful
unless you consider that reserve fund planning for properties also includes the
necessity of looking at repairs and replacements to the condo or townhouse.
In any case, we are working towards the goal of having the same kind of success
with RFund as we have had with our industrial offerings. We are in the beginning
stages with RFund right now, but we plan to introduce it, in time, to all Canadian
centres, and subsequently into the U.S.A.
There are two principal people that perhaps you'd like to know a little about.
Graham Oliver
President, Oliver Interactive, Inc.
Graham
Oliver is President of Oliver interactive, inc., a developer and marketer of proprietary
software packages. The products are used in 23 countries around the world for
determining optimal replacement times for industrial assets, and the proper intervals
for replacement and repair. The mathematical models that underlie the calculations
are those of Mr. Oliver's colleagues, the globally-respected engineers Dr. Andrew
Jardine of the University of Toronto and Dr. Nicholas Hastings in Australia.
Graham spent a great part of his working life at two respected organizations.
He was with Du Pont for 19 years and served in various capacities related to marketing
and market planning for its product lines. Subsequently he joined McGill University
where he taught in the Faculty of Management and ran the Faculty's well-known
Executive Institute which offers seminars for higher-managers from all parts of
Canada as well as from overseas organizations. His academic teaching responsibilities
were centered on Marketing Management, Marketing Planning and Sales Management,
and he held classes for both graduate (MBA) students as well as undergraduate
students.
His interest in property management stems from his having served for several
years on the Board of his own condominium, and for one year as President. His
insight into the management and organization of reserve funds required by condominiums
and town-houses called community associations in the USA led to
the development of a new software package called RFund© . RFund is available as
a simplified "decision making tool" (called "RFund dmt"), and as a more comprehensive
full-featured version labeled "RFund ff". It is Graham's conviction that these
products are easier to use, and offer a far greater number of features than simply
employing Excel© spreadsheets to meet the needs of reserve fund planning and control
for owner-managed properties.
Graham is a member of the Toronto Chapter of CCI - The Canadian Condominium
Institute.
Wayne Bryan
Chief Technology Advisor
Wayne
heads up the technology side of the business, which means, essentially, that he's
able to turn our great ideas - and lots of his own as well - into useable, practical
software solutions. With more than 20 years of experience, Wayne is well versed
in providing professional technology solutions that meet our immediate needs and
that will grow as we grow.
Wayne grew up in Toronto, and after high school went on to study Computer Engineering
at the University of Waterloo. Waterloo graduates are highly prized for their
computer and engineering skills, and are a prime source of programming talent
for the mighty Microsoft Corporation. Wayne graduated from Waterloo with a Bachelor
of Applied Science degree in Computer Engineering (with a Management Sciences
Option).
Currently Wayne divides his busy life between teaching at Seneca College where
he has become one of their most highly-regarded instructors and course developers,
and contract work for companies such as Oliver Interactive, Inc. Prior to joining
Seneca Wayne worked for a number of small-to-medium size organizations. His positions
included software developer, senior consultant, development engineer, and even
marketing director.
Wayne's many talents extend far beyond the technology field. He has a strong
interest and belief in the support of health through nutrition and happily shares
his knowledge with others. In addition to English, he also speaks some Spanish.
He enjoys spending time in the gym and loves to play tennis.
Oliver Interactive, Inc. considers itself fortunate to have Wayne's talents
as its prime resource, both for software development and also for the insight
he brings to the finished product, ultimately to the benefit of the company and
its clients.
