Accountability … If we're talking about condos and townhouses the people responsible for the fund's balances are accountable to the unit owners. If we're talking about other properties, the accountability may be to the members (of a club, a congregation or an association for example) … or to the fee-payers (of a nursing home or retirement facility) … or to the local rate-payers (for the upkeep of the town's arena or fire hall). Most individuals given the job of managing a property - either as paid managers or as volunteers - will want to do the best job possible. It 's not only a legal responsibility in many cases (more on that in a moment) but an ethical one as well. Just the same, it's well to remind ourselves that there are people out there "with their eyes on us", making sure the decisions seem sensible and well-thought-out. Liability … RFund can help manage reserve fund issues so well that the possibility of being charged with mismanagement after having applied RFund's logic to the task, are, we believe, almost nil. Even more, the mere fact that RFund is employed for the job, in itself signals a dedication to the responsibility that clearly reflects the aim of the decision-makers to do a thorough job. That's why we think that RFund delivers not only the tangible results of helping to create a good plan, but adds the all-important perception that every step is being taken to ensure that a comprehensive analysis was carried out. |
