About Reserve Fund Essentials (RFE)
RFE is a 17-chapter, 94-page “treasury” of reserve fund information. Everything from the basics right up to the wrinkles that make creating and maintaining a reserve plan so interesting. All of it is written in an easy-to-follow conversational style that makes your time with the book enjoyable, as well as singularly useful.
RFE’s coverage is surprisingly broad ranging. Here’s what we cover
Funding ¡ The Reserve Fund Study ¡ Investing ¡ Borrow-ing ¡ Asset Replacement ¡ Adequacy ¡ Safety Nets ¡ Expenditures ¡ Components ¡ Balances ¡ Inflation ¡ In-terest ¡ Timing ¡ What-ifs ¡ Repairs ¡ Updating ¡ Software ¡ Optimizing ¡ Immunizing ¡ Predicting ¡ Assessments ¡ Frequency ¡ Legislation … and more
Take a look at the RFE covers. Lots to look at Who is it aimed at … Questions that RFE answers … What readers say about it … The properties RFE is intended for … Who are the authors.
Two major 3-part chapters are exceptional. One, for the learner, is Reserve Fund Fundamentals. This 15-page chapter can give new Board Members just what they need to grasp what reserve balances are all about. Our chapter on Reserve Fund “Adequacy” provides a long-awaited objective method for determining if you can call a funding plan’s balances adequate or insufficient. It’s actually an industry breakthrough!
Take a look, and even read the other chapters by going to our CHAPTERS page. You’ll see for yourself that what we say about RFE’s wide-ranging topics, its easy-to-follow style, and its potential value is all very real!
We have had people ask us if RFE will be relevant in their State or Province. There’s a concern that reserve fund matters are “local”, and our content may not apply. Please … worry not! RFE is applicable to all reserve funds, no matter what kind of property it is, where you’re located, or the size or age of it. We do have a short (4-page) chapter on Legislation but it’s mainly to provide perspective on the laws that exist, generally.
