What's an Expenditure Decision Expediter (EDE), you may ask? As one of the chapters of our book “Reserve Fund Essentials” explains … an expenditure from your reserve fund will usually mean that future, similar, planned expenditures should be re-examined.
The new actual expenditure may have occurred at an earlier or later date than anticipated. It may have cost more (or less rarely less) than planned for. These facts should be reflected in your future planned expenditures. In practice, it can get a bit tricky, and that's why we've come up with the EDE.
It's a simple WORD document and a kind of Decision Tree. Easy to use, and headache free.
The EDE provides another huge plus. Your Reserve Planner can do a much better job … easier, faster … if there's a good record of what's “gone on” since the last study. Providing him with a file of EDEs can be a real godsend when the next plan is being prepared.
To get your EDE, simply contact us, and we'll send a copy off to you right away, by e-mail.
