Decision Expediter

What's an Expenditure Decision Expediter (EDE), you may ask? As one of the chapters of our book “Reserve Fund Essentials” explains … an expenditure from your reserve fund will usually mean that future, similar, planned expendi­tures should be re-examined.

The new actual expenditure may have occurred at an earlier or later date than anticipated. It may have cost more (or less — rarely less) than planned for. These facts should be reflected in your future planned expenditures. In practice, it can get a bit tricky, and that's why we've come up with the EDE.

It's a simple WORD document and a kind of Decision Tree. Easy to use, and headache free.

The EDE provides another huge plus. Your Reserve Planner can do a much better job … easier, faster … if there's a good record of what's “gone on” since the last study. Providing him with a file of EDEs can be a real godsend when the next plan is being prepared.
