My name is Graham Oliver, and I run Oliver Interactive, Inc. People often like to know a little about just who their dealing with, so here’s just a short run-down on my enterprise and me.

Oliver Interactive, Inc., is a software enterprise located in Canada’s most thriving city, Toronto. We’re the exclusive world-wide marketers of EXAKT: The CBM Optimizer, and the principal world-wide marketer of Andrew Jardine’s AGE/CON and PERDEC packages and of Nick Hastings’ RELCODE product.

For almost 20 years I was with McGill University in Montreal my jobs included teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels as well as organizing executive workshops for McGill’s Management Institute. Back in the ‘70s Andrew Jardine approached McGill to offer his seminar "Maintenance, Replacement & Reliability" one version for plant engineers and another for fleet operators. The seminars were well-attended and well-received, and as a result of his visits to McGill we came to know each other well.

I learned from Andrew that he had been engaged by Montreal’s large 4000-bus public transit organization to help them refine their replacement policies. I also learned that he significantly changed their existing policy, which resulted in his client saving an impressive annual savings to a tune of over $4,000,000/year. To accomplish this he had his mathematical formulas computer-programmed and he called the software AGE/CON. The name derives from "AGE eCON- omique", French for "economic age". When he told me about it, I wondered, since this program saved tons of money for Montreal’s transit operation, if perhaps it could do the same for other organizations.

Andrew liked the question, and I liked his answer. In fact he asked if I would be interested in doing the marketing. "Yes", again, and ergo, Oliver Interactive, Inc., was born.

Not long afterwards, Andrew Jardine suggested that the same approach could be applied to decisions related to machinery and equipment replacement. PERDEC was then created to address the needs of this market.

Since that time lots has happened. Through Andrew Jardine we became similarly connected to Nick Hastings in Australia, an academic colleague of Andrew Jardine’s, and we began to handle RELCODE as well. For another thing, we found there was indeed a strong demand by maintenance managers and practitioners for a "better way" to make more economical maintenance and replacement decisions.

About four years ago a project was begun, under Andrew Jardine’s guidance, at the University of Toronto. This project, which was funded by government and government-related departments, along with a number of industrial companies, had as it’s mandate to research, explore and crystallize models that would improve decisions-making for those organizations using Condition-Based maintenance approaches.

The deliverable, was a software package, now called EXAKT: The CBM Optimizer, and is now commercial. Oliver Interactive, Inc. is honored to have been chosen as the exclusive world-wide marketer. Agency arrangements are being made, and one, already in place, is with the largest consulting organization in the world — PricewaterhouseCoopers.

My business philosophy is focused on three things... serviceproviding our clients and prospective clients with answers to their questions and solutions to their problems... fairnessdealing with others the way we like to be dealt with by others... mutual satisfactionthat clients are as happy with the results of using our products as we are by getting their orders.

I think our written Guarantee, expressed elsewhere in this folder, reflects our position well. I hope we’ll do business together and begin a rewarding business relationship.
